25 Years NEUMAN & ESSER in Egypt
On June 1, 1999, NEUMAN & ESSER Middle East was established as a subsidiary of NEUMAN & ESSER in Cairo. NEUMAN & ESSER's presence in mills and classifier systems as well as in the compressor business in Egypt dates back to the 1960s. Until the foundation of NEUMAN & ESSER Middle East, the sales area was represented by an agent. The first Managing Director of NEUMAN & ESSER Middle East was Sayed Younis. Following the development of the site from a representative office to an independent company in its early years, the company was renamed in 2008. Under the new name NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt Ltd., the company has now taken over installations and commissioning as well as local sales support in the region.
With the sale of a two crank horizontal compressor system size 190 (type 2TZL190) for mix gas application, NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt in cooperation with NEUMAN & ESSER Italia achieved a significant milestone in 2010. The challenges associated with the revolution on January 25 of the year following were successfully mastered by NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt. During this period, NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt played a decisive role in arranging the sale of two PM 60 pendulum mills by NEUMAN & ESSER Process Technology to a customer in Egypt. The mills are still running in a phosphate application. Another important success and proof of the company's ability to develop further in challenging times.
The present Managing Director Emad Tabaza took over the management of the NEUMAN & ESSER site in Egypt in 2012. With him, the company has continued its strategic development. Since the mid-2010s, NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt has maintained numerous long-term partnerships with major customers. In addition to the systems, service and repairs are now also provided as part of the strategic partnerships. These partnerships are the foundation for the successful first years of the new decade, in which NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt has already experienced numerous highlights.
Major milestones were already achieved in 2020. These include the first spare parts delivery in the company's history. The largest contract in the company's history also dates to 2020 and was realized in collaboration with NEUMAN & ESSER Italia. The order included three horizontal piston compressors of type 1 SZL190 and two piston compressors of type 1 SZL30.
Furthermore, another huge project was realized in this cooperation. Two 2SZL63 compressor packages were supplied to the customer for compressing a mixture of hydrocarbons with traces of carbon dioxide.
The following years were also very successful. In cooperation with NEUMAN & ESSER Italia, 13 compressors were sold in 2021 only. Thanks to the cooperation with NEUMAN & ESSER Deutschland and NEUMAN & ESSER Gulf, milestones in the service and repair business were achieved. For example, the installation and commissioning of two horizontal 4-crank piston compressors size 190 was realized in the West Nile Delta in Egypt in cooperation with NEUMAN & ESSER Deutschland. Moreover, a major piston liner repair measure in a refinery was carried out together with NEUMAN & ESSER Gulf.
The biggest contract in the history of NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt followed in 2023. After two years of negotiations, another strategic partnership was established. The agreement runs for five years, and it comprises regular, emergency, and preventive maintenance of eleven NEUMAN & ESSER compressors and five machines of other manufacturers.
In the first 25 years of NEUMAN & ESSER Egypt, 50 compressors, 25 of these in cooperation with NEUMAN & ESSER Italia, and three mills and classifier systems, including two of the largest pendulum mills ever built, PM 60, were delivered. Today, nine experts are working at the NEUMAN & ESSER location in Egypt.
