API 618 Compressors

API 618 compressors are piston compressors designed to meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) standard. They were specifically designed for the oil, gas, and process industries. Design and Operation

API 618 compressors operate on the positive displacement principle using pistons. One or more pistons move back and forth in cylinders, compressing the gas in several stages.

The most important components are:

• Crankcase, connecting rods, and crossheads: Convert the rotary motion of the engine into linear motion.
• Valves: Ensure the controlled inlet and discharge of gas.
